Peggy Webb was born in 1910 as a fifth generation Australian in the wilds of Mexico, travelled widely through South America and the USA as a child and then lived in England until 1919. She grew up as a teenager in the depression years in Sydney and was in Ireland and Germany in 1935 when the Nazi Party was dominant. She later moved to Perth and then Kojonup in southern Western Australia after marrying Geoff Webb, a farmer who very soon became a soldier in South-east Asia. The last third of her life was based in Busselton and she still travelled widely throughout Australia.
She was the daughter of a mining engineer whose only capital was his intelligence and her Mother was a descendant of an established Adelaide family. Peggy's story is wide ranging, covering a strong philosophy of life lived with love, energy and great common sense. She was an Aunt, both real and de facto to a great number of people. It is a stimulating lesson and entertainment to us all, especially as we live seemingly in fear of the future and is recommended reading for all ages.
